10 "Eye-to-Eye"

Just after dawn on the 22nd of September, 2010, I was hiding behind several trees on the shore of Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, watching this young Bull Elk make his way along the shoreline towards  the marsh at the south side of the lake.  All of a sudden he made an abrupt left-hand turn and emerged from the lake approximately 8 - 10 feet in front of me.  We looked into each others eyes for a few moments before he made his way into the forest.  It was an amzing experience!
